67' Marcos GT Ex Mark Hales car, any further information??

I know someone that is looking to sell an old marcos race car. At present it is all in bits and needs a complete rebuild but all main parts are there to do.

Dont suppose anyone has any more info on the car or knows anyone thats clued up on marco's?

Hi, my gearbox is a bit "clattery" in 1,2,3 and neutral but not too bad in 4th. I have put Castrol D140 in which helps reduce the noise although makes 1st to 2nd change when cold a bit tight. Does anyone know where I might find a spare or exchange unit? I am in Suffolk.

Info needed on a 1970 Marcos GT 3.0L Volvo

Hi Folks,

I need some help to get my 1970 Marcos GT 3.0L Volvo running. It's been sitting a while and there's no brake pedal. I'm assuming M/cyl is shot and possibly the calipers. Are these Triumph GT6 like the front suspension?

Also, this car is being converted to Ford 3.0L V-6. The engine is a donor from a Capri from the same...

3 Litre Wheels

My 1971 3L Volvo has original 13" Cosmic wheels and they look too small. I also have problems grounding out on the exhaust. I would like to try some bigger wheels to improve the appearance and give me a bit more ground clearance. Can anyone advise which wheels & tyres to use?

Hi - having a 3L and want more power, read V8 around 300 BHP. Which engine is suggested and what upgrades do I have to do carry out. Beside the driveline.

Know that the rover seems to be a choice of many, but seems expensive and not impressive

Will a @#%$ Cerbera 4.2 AJP V8 fitt or a MUSTANG 4600 CC V8.

Please advice any experience ?

I have just aqured 3M/5447, a 1969 steel bodied V6.
Searching other Marcos owners in Norway, I sent a mail to a guy in the west part of our country.

He called me back tonight, offering his Volvo engined 3 litre for a unnormal low sum. When he said why, I understood why the asking price was so low.

The car went up in flames a couple of years ago, when returning from Nurburgring.
Only the steel chassis, engine and axles incl wheels, remains. Body and interior is long...

headlamp cover wanted

I have a 3lt v6 but understand the headlampcovers are the same. After watching my left hand side cover go flying then smashing then repeastedly run over I now need a new/second hand one, can anyone help?

I am the very proud recent owner of a 3 litre (Ford) GT that I believe dates from around 1981. I've no history of the vehicle, and although I can find my way around some of it, I'd very much like to seen an original spec and/or build manual. Can anybody help me please? Thanks, Danny

Biggest radiator possible?

Gosh, this is a very quiet part of the Forum!!
Can anybody out there in Marcosland, advise me what the largest standard radiator is that I can fit to my (origianlly)Triumph style body/chassis unit.
Not too concerned about the intake-outflow points as these can be "altered" but looking for max cooling in what appears to be a confined space.

I know they exist cos I saw one about 25years ago and would have bought it but it was attached to a Marcos! Been watching Ebay for years!

Volvo 2 litre bottom radiator hose

Does anyone know what car this was from? I assume that it was a parts bin hose but I can't find out which. The usual source doesn't know.

OTHERWISE

If no one knows are there any other 3LV owners who need a bottom hose (oo er) or would like a spare. I have found a manufacturer and I am prepared to put up the cash to get the mould made etc but need to know how many are needed. No idea on cost but I'm not in this for profit. Please let me know

My engine is standard as it the rest of the car other than 14" wheels and Wilwood 4 pot caliper front brakes.

Happy to hear of anyone else mad enough to race...

Currently having a new bonnet made with a deeper front, after smashing the other when an errant TR6 ended up on its roof just in front of me as I was cornering at about 85mph. Hit the brakes and spun but couldn't avoid the Armco on the track edge... Smashed the back end too...

Stromberg carb throttle & choke linkages

Im in the process of rebuilding the twin stromberg carbs on my volvo b30, but the original throttle cable and choke brackets and linkages have been lost. Does anyone have any pictures of their set-up, or even better have a spare set of brackets? There are some pictures on www.brightonspeedtrials.co.uk/gallery/ in marcos-engine bits and bobs. The only part i have apart from the actual carbs, is the rod which connects to the throttle lever on the carbs, which runs in line with the...
