Does anyone have, or know where I can lay my hands on a Mantis Windscreen ? Found a nice split in mine and need to change it for the next MOT in April.

Been a bit quiet in Mantis-land so thought I'd share the results of one of my meanderings around the web which seem to have uncovered two references to this (to me) unknown car - has anyone else heard about it? The bodywork has had a serious amount of tweaking by the look of it. Back end looks a bit rough, but I actually rather like the smoothed rolling wheel arches. Bonnet is bulge free too - obviously the Cossie is somewhat less high...

Anyone in the Wiltshire area willing to let me experince a Mantis?

All I need to now is make/type of oil to top up and the diff capacity .

I have a cracked front indicator and I believe it is from a Mazda MX-3 1992 - 1996 model.........Unless you know otherwise........... And who makes after market lights for these??? Any ideas?? Cheers, G

4000 rpm

After all the trouble of finding the short circuit that kept my Mantis off the road for 2 weeks, I am now facing the next challenge....
Upto 4000 rpm, the engine is just fine. Usual torque, just perfect.
But when all hell ought to break loose (at 4000 rpm) the engine starts stuttering, misfiring and looses all power.
My first guess was that there was a problem in the fuel supply.

Mantis exhaust

Hi, new guy on the block. I have had a mantis for a couple of years and I finally need to replace the exhausts. Any suggestions on where to go and what to pay? I have heard about going for a larger bore to 'help free the rumble'.

A lovely weekend on the 24h race ended in a night on the side of a street just outside Le Mans.
The Mantis just 'gave up'.
All electrics seemed to work OK, but I decided to check the fuses anyway. (Difficult task in the pitch dark)
Found the middle one closest to the engine to have...

Radiator cooling fan

Does anyone know where the cooling fan comes from/off, and can you replace the fan and motor or is it one unit? One of my blades looks a bit damaged and I was thinking of changing the fan, or the unit if necessary........ Gary

A/C confirmation

Can anyone suggest a sure-fire way of confirming whether my A/C is working... apart from detecting cold air coming out of the vents. This, I do not have.

All pipes recently replaced - A/C rad too. Another recharge. When A/C on I get warm air (was once measured at -2 degrees so that's not right!), plus no change to revs or in voltage, both of which I remember used to happen. Advice please?

Just an update on the Mantis Ecu
After wiring the OBD 2 plug (J1962) as described in the Errattic tickover post I tried using a MAC obd2 reader without any luck. So I took the car to Euro American in North London. I met a guy called Big Al (A very knowledgeable American) who checked over the wiring and informed me that pin 13 was not needed unless we were going to reprogram the Ecu. He then plugged in his reader and nothing happened we then added a power supply to his reader and it...

This isn't Chris, it's his buddy Gary. Chris has asked me to come on here for a bit of advice.

Chris is returning (or not) from France in his V8 Mantis. In Clermont-Ferrand, on a start, the engine stalled immediately, and subsequent attempts were met with a thud and obvious torque on the engine, implying some kind of interference. He was relayed to a local garage, whereupon much head scratching took place. I speak some French, so asked them to try and...
