I been very busy renovating the bathroom. Which filled up the garage with crap again.

I sorted out the shed, twice. That filled up the garage again. Twice.

I have gotten dissallusioned with it all throughout 2009, its fair to say.

However, I have over two weeks off starting this Friday, so nowt will happen again, cos I am going canal barging with a drunken ejet once again, which is always fun. However when I return I will be e,ptying the garage once more....

I done three trips to the tip today.
Now I can walk down the one side again.
I got a few days to get long term boxes stashed away in the roof, no mean feat when you consider there is already a car in bits up there.
Then I might be able to get to work again.

Faith was never in question, remember the swamp/alligator analogy thats the feeling right now.

The rear body mods were completed in early March 2009, doors, rear screen, roll bar and new seat have been fitted back into the car. Work has started on the front as the new wider track wishbones make the front wheels stick out a further 3" from the bonnet line than they did before. Work is progressing quickly, well it really has to, to get the car ready fo July . I still have over 2 months so it...

What seems to be different is the position of the manifolds and the oil filter on that side at least. I cannot even begin to imagine how to bring a chassis rail forward from out of the tunnel area so that I can come up off the new rail to site an engine mount. There isn't any room.The exhaust headers are pretty snug as it is. But thats a 3 inch down pipe which will have to be cut and turned through 90 degrees so the exhausts go out through the footwells and down the underside of the door...

Major, looking at you pictures can`t you cut the wings of the sump then modify it elsewhere to maintain the original capacity.

You can gain more space in the drivers footwell by utilising the area to the right of the accelerater pedal. Once the body is fitted, recess between the chassis rails with a new grp panel and you can gain a couple of inches for your foot allowing you...

I was working lates last week. Nowt happened in the garage on Friday, and I didn't get back home from work until 01.30 Saturday morning as a pub got in the way.

Saturday, late start to everything as pub got in the way late Friday evening. Eventually got down the Shed and got to work on Gigantor, plus a Ford Mustang which has to be finished by next Wednesday. (A promise made is a debt unpaid, or so the say.)

Out dancing Saturday evening. At midnight the dancing...

Thanks Chris for the pedal assembly mention. I have seen a few options out there.

I have been cutting more box section today. That will be located tomorrow.

Then its a case of cutting away the glass fibre, (I hate glass fibre dust) and seeing how far in the engine will go. I am hoping to get a first engine fit by Friday. Then I can say I have achieved somthing this year already.

I've made up a floor hinged pedal assembly for my car, frees up loads of room at the top of the footwell as all the cylinders and linkages are on the floor now.
Took me a few months to fabricate it, but you can buy decent assemblies for not a huge sum of money.
Unless you've already got something sorted, in which case I'll get me coat...

Is now wnabout (cant remember exactly but) there is a vertical piece of box section which is the inside corner to the front of the footwells, and the top chassis rails have been moved out to that location from there the engine bay will in effect slop doe in a 'vee' shape mimicking the engine but will have a 6 to 8 inch extra width at the top, without compromising to much on foot space. The Pedal Carriage assembly in the drivers foot well, will have to be a different arrangement. I did...

Hi Major,

I looked into using the TKO 'box and would have gone for it if the budget had allowed! One problem I had was the additional length of the Tremec box as I am moving my engine back. The R380 box it would have replaced is approx 500mm long whereas the TKO is 631mm (I've got some pdfs with all dimensions & shift points for TKO 600 & T56 somewhere if you need, I think they are on the Tremec website somewhere). Your diff alignment is probably better than mine but...

Well its got everything to do with the position of the engine and the position of the gearbox in relation to where the gearstick comes out of the hole in the tunnel. The TKO 600 has choices, the T56 from memory doesn't.

Anyway, I think 240 mph is fast enough, don't you. ROFLMAO hahahaha.

In two weeks time I guess, give or take a few days. I pick up my replacement engine for the Mantula.

Its going to be the Chevy LS1. (Wanted the LS7)

This time round its having an auto box. Probably the 4l60e or the 4l80e depending.

The running gear is going to be Jag 2.88:1 diff and custom back end.

Mounting craddle is in production as I type.

The front is either going to be custom made in Berkshire by one of the hot rod houses or bought in from the states...
