Clutch Master Cylinder seals |

Anyone know the size and or part number for the clutch master cylinder seals. Failing that, where's the best place to get a new cylinder?

My car a 1970 Essex V6 has a 0.75in master cylinder(both clutch and brake). The size is on the side of the master cylinder. Many firms sell seal kits eg
www.burtonpower.com or www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk . I have just bought a spare set from Merlin

A word of warning | #3 | ||

Colin
I replaced the slave and master cylinder on my car before I sold it last year. Beware of using DOT6 Silicon Brake fluid with OEM seal kits..... i had loads of problems with sticking cylinders. Replaced the seals with non-oem and the problem went away. If you use mineral fluid then you shouldn't have a problem. Regards John |

Thanks for the warning John, I have used DOT 4 and am aware that some people report problems with seals but I recon seals are easier to change than rusty or
corroded cylinders due to the water that mineral fluid absorbs. Mind you, it is a lot cheaper

I used Silicon fluid in my brake and clutch systems. With no OEM seals I was fine. Hope you fixed the problem.
