I'm finishing off the rebuild of my 1970 3 litre, and wondered about not putting the tatty rain gutters back on. Anybody tried running without them, or
suggest a decent alternative to hard to bend alloy?

Hi
The rain gutters are not really needed, I drove mine for a long time without them. I must admit when I fitted mine they are tight to the body so probably dont do much as gutters even now. However the do make the edge of the bodywork around the doors look much better. Especially if you pack them out a bit to fit the actually line of the doors. ( yes I know , 'fit' is not a word used too often with a Marcos). The front and top is easy, but the back edge needs carefull checking to make sure the door will close. If you get the trims from Rory the ally is quite soft and very easy to form to shape around the edge. Also it will take a very good polish with a bit of effort. Richard |
