I have a list of replacements, from but i am checking on peoples recommended preferences I have taken out the plugs to clean and found that they are 2 different but similar types. (Motorcraft awsf32e and awsf32eg) I have also read that "4.6L Mustang heads are aluminum, so ALWAYS coat the plugs threads with a quality anti-seize compound before installing them"

Registered Member Posts: 557 Sun, 5-Apr-2009 21:08	One of few lessons my father taught me that really stuck was to always grease plug threads. I usually use a smear of any old general purpose grease, though graphited grease might be best. I have been told that Moly grease is not a good idea in high temperature service as the molybdenum compound can oxidise to an abrasive, and I never use copper-based grease on aluminium, as copper and aluminium are opposite ends of the galvanic series so corrosion is accelerated if the location can become wet (and worse if warm and wet). For the same reason I always grease my wheel studs and nuts, but never with copper based grease. There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

Registered Member Posts: 168 Wed, 8-Apr-2009 16:44 Apprentice mechanic	As taken from the Official Ford Mustang Manual ---------------------- NOTE: Three different styles of platinum-enhanced spark plugs are produced for the 4.6L (4V) engine. Each spark plug has a different part number and use. AWSF-32E spark plugs have a platinum-enhanced center electrode and are used in cylinders 5, 6, 7 and 8. AWSF-32EG spark plugs have a platinum-enhanced ground (side) electrode, and are used in cylinders 1, 2, 3 and 4. If any spark plug is removed and re-installed, it MUST be installed in the same cylinder from which it was removed. If any spark plug is replaced, use only spark plugs with part number AWSF-32EE (as listed on the vehicle emission control information label). This replacement spark plug has double platinum enhancement on both the center and ground electrode and may be used in all eight cylinders. Try NGK TR55???? Registered Member Posts: 46 Wed, 8-Apr-2009 21:27	I have all ways fitted N.G.K.plugs BPR 6EFS into Mantis. set the gap to 35 thou. Ford told us at the factory that the standard plugs were good for 65,000 miles. The standard gap on motorcraft is 65 thou, and yes all new engines had two different plugs fitted as mentioned above.
