Last week I suddenly lost my clutch.
Quick look under the bonnet : cable snapped. 
But....I was on the road again within 1 hour 
This is how I fixed it (with blood, sweat and beer)

l love improvisation !---and with a spanner you've built in "adjustment" for the future.
Reminds me of my youth - using the girlfriend's tights for a fanbelt.--(after a short interlude) . |

Great fix! That would have stopped me dead in my tracks... I still maintain the hydraulic clutch conversion (by the factory) was one of my smarter moves on the Mantis. The original clutch needed a run up, & the bite point was somewhere just in front of the radiator...!
