Radiator cooling fan |

Does anyone know where the cooling fan comes from/off, and can you replace the fan and motor or is it one unit? One of my blades looks a bit damaged and I was
thinking of changing the fan, or the unit if necessary........ Gary

l don't know which fan/s have been used on your car, but if you're looking for replacement/s ,then try "Car builders solution " website.
They're pretty good.
l've just looked up their catalogue and they offer a range from 8" to 16" blades and feature "pusher" or "puller"--some are curved blades(apparently quieter, use less power), others straight. Fixing kits also offered. Units are simple to fit-"attached" straight onto the radiator |

Rad was originally from a Mondeo V6, there are a number of fan manufacturers (SPAL, PACET, KENLOWE) although SPAL fans are said to be among the best:

Would have though it best to replace the whole fan. |

Finally home and had a closer look.
For future use its a Spal VA18-AP6-41MA 12V but it does not seem to be a current model. I will give them a call and see what the cost is, and maybe see if a more efficient curved blade version is available. |

New fan fitted and the 12 years of fan development seems a wise buy as you can "feel the force" of the airflow...

They recommended the straight blades as they are more efficient, the curved ones are quieter, but who would know on a Mantis.....
