I will certainly be there but as you know my project is still just a project and will only be watching again this year but already looking forward to getting a few close peeks under the bonnets of the various models to pinch a few ideas. Hopefully if the Curbouough Sprint Circuit is still in existence in 2010 my Marcos will make a return to the track once more, Regards, Martyn........

Something to do with web design I guess, maybe it just buffers the old info and somehow the fact that the page has been updated doesn't register. There must be a way around this. For reference - this is NOT the right date (its just to prove I am not seeing things!) !!!! The rally is next weekend. Its July - not June .... There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Registered Member Posts: 243 Sun, 5-Jul-2009 18:52	The Lm600 may not be there? as although you all know the exterior and interior is basically complete the handling and engine are not! New shocks are on order as the existing ones are knackered! the engine just is not very responsive either at the moment! it runs but is not set up properly! so if the shocks arrive and are fitted in time it should be ok, but definately will not drive her around the track as it is! watch this space!!

If you want to take part in the track event, it's £20 per driver and you can pay RJP on the day. Or just chill out in the MOC Lounge and chat about cars n stuff, if you turn up early I'm told there is another event on but you can still get access to park for free. The track is 'Brown signed' on A34 North just near Lichfield, and if like me you'll meet other Marcos's driving up n down the lane trying to find it, well here's a tip, DRIVE SLOWER ! the entrace is just on one of the bends (somewhere). http://www.multimap.com/maps/?zoom=14&countryCode=GB&lat=52.712713735172&lon=-1.80308151095713&dp=904 There's usually a greasey spoon van onsite for Bacon Butties n tea etc. For those staying overnight, there's the 50th Aniversary pi....... sorry Dinner n Dance Party at the Ramada Hotel Cannock, please make sure you contact John Brookes at MOC if you aint booked yet. On the following day, there's the Concours event at the RAF Museum Cosford, entry is free and this includes access to the Museum, it's easy to find as it's just off J3 of M54 heading towards W-ton or on A41 out of W-ton if coming the other way

Registered Member Posts: 1340 Sat, 11-Jul-2009 21:05 Chief mechanic	well after a moist start to the day, it all went very well I think, won't tell the you the results of the sprint, will leave that for official confirmation. Some brave attempts made to improve on laps times by all, and I'm sure that me telling them all that they were running last helped Big LM made a magnificent entry and overheated on the entrance to the track (thank god it was only steam I saw) soon sourced to dodgy wiring on the fan relay, better found then than in a traffic jam on the way home though. Nuala and I had a great time which we enjoyed immensely, both at the circuit and later at the hotel. At the circuit, I particularly enjoyed thrashing the pants off the Ye110w beast and as far as we could make out managed to win the class 3 (3.9L) event. So although not really up for concourse, the old girl showed she still had it in her (The car not Nuala ). JRP badgered us into going to the hotel and although we didn't stay the night we were still there until late Saturday night.and had a wonderful evening. We were unable to join you all on the Sunday but hope you had a wonderful day and that the weather was kind to you for the concourse event, you guys deserve it. The welcome we were given by you all was fantastic. It was great to see you all again and we also met two new friends by the names of Jan and Dennis Rees, who we proceeded to bore to tears with tales of the Skidmore's experiences. (Next time, it will be your turn to batter OUR ears ) We would like to thank every one who put in so much hard work to make the event the wonderful success it so obviously was and look forward to meeting you all at the next one. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL

While the late run of Dave Parslow's 4.6 litre Mantula at 57.73s just pipped Richard's immaculate Mantis GT, I still think Bill Smith's performance in his 1600 road legal racer must be inspiration to many owners - and shows just how good the original wooden chassis cars can be given a tight twisty course. These three were the only people to crack the 1 minute barrier for the two flying laps. There's a lot of talk these days about green transport.
