Guys with my experience at other non race events at Prescott there will be no problem no matter how load you may think your car is.

Noise limits at Prescott | #82
|
Hi there, me again, with one of my infrequent posts, especially when I get asked more questions! I had to make the point as a reminder of the circuit licence
obligations.
So, from the Oracle that is the organisation team at Prescott, if your car sounds very noisy as it goes by the start gate, you may be asked to undertake a drive-by noise test. There is no official testing as there is at the major race circuits, where MSA regulations apply - something like 3/4 max engine speed, with the noise meter held half a metre above the ground at an angle of 45% from the exhaust pipe, approximately. Put is this way, if a certain Mantula can successfully run there every year, then there is hope for most of you, and others with what could be described as less than docile engines have also enjoyed a day's entertainment there. If you have access to noise suppressors, then bring them with you, just in case; there may be a few available. The Rotary event in May attracts all sorts of cars and I'm not aware of many, if any, being turned away. Just be sensible when and where you lay down the power. If you have any further questions, please contact me by e-mail as I'm unlikely to be back here for a while. |

Paddock parking at Prescott | #83
|
Guys, picking up comments from another thread, just to confirm that there is still space in the Paddock, for now anyway! It's better if you do book in
advance, although please turn up on the day and if you come in a Marcos, you will be directed to the Paddock entrance.
Regards, Isobel |

Noise Level | #87 | ||
|
I am somewhat confused by the permitted levels. According to the website it is 108db or 110 depending on the car or 104db in a drive by test. Mine measures
102.5 at Curborough and I have inserts I can use if necessary!

I've got a decibel meter (a decibelometer?) that I use to measure the efficiency of domestic smoke detectors. I'll bring it with me in case anyone
wants to check their level beforehand

Found this on YouTube. From 2008 (May Cleeve Vale Rotary Club meeting I think). Various Marcos shoots all the way to the end of the 8 minutes.

Sudeley Castle, Saturday | #97
|
Hi All
Not long now and we are all eagerly looking to the MET office for some sort of encouragement regarding the weather for the weekend. It's shaping up to be something really special. IMPORTANT Please note that although there is no pre booking for the Saturday event at Sudeley Castle, all those attending will be required to pay the entry fee, after you have parked your cars, at the entrance. Gates open from 10.30 am. Entry into the famous grounds and exhibitions and access to the refreshments area, is at special concessionary rate for Marcos owners of £5.20 for Adults and £3.20 for children. You just need to inform them when paying that you are part of the Marcos celebration meeting. Look forward to seeing you all there and over the weekend. Don't forget you cameras.... Roger |
