I´m having a 1600GT rebuilt at Wooden Wonders. I haven´t yet made up my mind about the wheel size. I want to go for the classic look, so no low profiles for me. In that case, 13" wheels seem to fill out the front arches nicely. However, for the rear axle, 14" seems more appropriate. Has anyone experimented with different wheel sizes at the front and the rear? Does it have any adverse implications for roadholding and handling?

Not sure if it helps but I have a Mantula with 14" wheels, and I am thinking of going 15" on the back provided I can keep the same wheel style
(revolution 5 spokes). I reckon that the geometry is dictated by the rolling radius not the wheel size, though obviously a deep tyre carcass acts as a spring
so you probably get a slightly smoother ride with a deep tyre. On the other hand, deep section high performance tyres are fairly rare these days. Standard rear
size on mine is 205/60VR14, but it came with 195/60VR14 and I tried 205/70VR14, and the steeing was heavy with the 195s, and the back rolled and felt unsettled
with the 205/70s, and the 205/60s feel right, so rolling radius is important.
I haven't checked how it will look - it might be one of those small differences that will upset the good looks. The human eye sometimes does things like that. Did you see the link to the tyre bible I posted in the General section ? I actually posted the link to Page 2, at the bottom there is a link back to Page 1 all about tyre sizes and markings. Might be useful.
There's a lot of talk these days about green transport. Well, I am ahead of the game, I already have green transport ... British racing green.

I would prefer 13" rims as per original, but as you say it is very hard to find proper 13" high performance tyres. Especially in 165 or 175. Maybe
14" would look fine as well. Still have to do some research!
