LM600 update | #121 | ||

Car was not quite ready last week for her 1st outing, but it will definately be this week, either tues or wed! the trimmers have done the transmission tunnel
and dash top cover, not seen it yet, but will get some interior pics this week also. All going well, the LM will be sitting in my garage poss by this coming
Saturday!! will get her MOT next week and get BIG LM on her

Going to have a look and experiance the 1st on the road drive this week, on trade plates!! and see how she stacks up in the real world, so come fri or mon next
wek depending on G Harman you will see some very sexual outdoor pics of this errr sexual looking car!! not seen the interior finished article look yet, just
waiting on 4 brushed ali push buttons for the windows to be positioned on the re designed carbon fibre dash and that should be it with the interior!! so close
now soooooooooooo close!! oh one other vital point............. the graphics have also been designed and cut in carbon fibre material for the bottom of the
doors and a different material ie vinyl for the top of the windscreen, the MARCOS logo is in the same font as the bonnet badge ( attention to detail!!) and
then it will read across the width of the doors approx 2" high MARCOS LM 600 Evo and similer across the windscreen with the Evo logo in red! on the doors
and windscreen. Also will have some Evo logos in red on the carbon fibre seats also as they have etched the MARCOS logo on the seats also looks bloody cool!!
again pics will reveal all!

An important update.......................................... went to have a look at the LM today and, it was sitting outside in full sunshine and
ummmmmmmmmmm WOW!! thats all i can say, i have seen this car over the past 7 months transform but nothing prepares you for the 1st proper finished article!.
It just shouts LOOK AT ME!!!!!! the paint work just seems to glow and it sits so low and the width of the thing! parked next to a land rover (as it was today)
it looks so much wider and flat looking but with all big curves and bulges just looks totally OTT. fantastic, AND Thursday next week is MOT time, it WILL pass,
and it will be fully road legal, i still have not driven it yet ahhhhhhhhhh but tues next week will be test time, they have allowed the car just to tick over
outside for 2 hours today (just to make sure all the fans cut in etc etc) and it runs beutifully, no erratic idle, does not overheat. So cannot see any
problems driving her on the road. Except one possible flaw!!.......................... As the brake pads are race originated they will never get to be used
as they should be with general driving, and the brakes seem spongey when you use it, so the car may have to either have a servo installed OR replace the brake
pads for more basic road use ones as they will never get hot enough to become fully effective and Greenspeed reckon the brakes will not be sharp enough? only
the impending road test will prove this. So the interior is complete we have gone for dark grey alcantara as opposed to black as the black looked a bit cheap
looking! the leather orange stiching is awsome! and the leather straps to pull the doors shut and bits around the gear shift again awsome!. The new design
carbon dash with all the ali buttons that aliuminate blue with the ignition on looks very modern and 100X better than the original layout. So just to re cap
on the road tues next week, MOT thursday, straight upto DVLA fri with all the documents and get BIG LM on her and just in time for Ace Cafe meet, to be totally
honust driving this car is going to be bloody scary! the front end is just so wide and even looking out of the wing mirrors and rear view mirror offers little
comfort to overtake, it will take some getting used to, on a wide race track no problem ( i reckon) but on a standard road i am going to have to be very very
careful with the width and front end and wheels. BUT who cares its gonna be fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the temporary original M reg number plates made this afternoon, we will temp put these on for the MOT station for Thursday next week, and i have also got
made the standard B1G LM rear plate and the stick on small front vinyl plate which we will place on the nose in front of the Marcos badge. The Marcos LM600
Evo graphics will go on next week also ( thats why i have done any pics as i want you to see it fully finished 1st, i will also do some interior pictures also
showing the new carbon fibre door cards seats and carpet/trim etc.

Had another look today (the feet are tapping) and they are giving her a final polish, general hoover, and they have tidied up the engine bay (not by richard
p's standard) but it looks clean and presentable. The graphics are going on Tuesday, we are taking her for her 1st spin wed and MOT booked Thurs, after
that the car comes home and will reside in her new home. Next week i intend to take her out to get used to the dimensions etc. The final set of pics i will
take by this weekend and you will see her at the Ace Cafe soon. Dont worry Rayne i will make sure you get some great pics to keep.

Hi Boycey, you contacted me early in the year via email informing me about your rebuild (I used to post over on PistonHeads). I have checked this thread daily
for the past few months so I decided that it was about time I signed up. I was also the bloke who submitted the Marcos LM600 car profile to supercars.net and
posted the 2 pictures which both recently featured as the 'Picture Of The Day'. I didn't think Gary or yourself would mind
So glad to see this finally coming together and reading that you have magazine articles lined up. I still think you should contact EVO about trying to get the Lotus Elise GT1, !@* Cerbera Speed 12 and your Marcos LM600 together for one hell of a photo shoot! Sorry Rayne i meant Rowan!! yeah i will get some video footage and you tube it!! passed the MOT today and she has been given her 1st real road test today and
apart from the sump guard occasionally scraping!!! it drives really well and looks really good (i had to follow it to the MOT station today) will be getting
B1G LM on her tommorrow and then I will start driving her Saturday i will get the pics to gary soon.

Hi All sorry for the dely in (the final pictures) but as you know a few teething problems with the Lm have occured, getting sorted so at the moment its 4 ft
in the air with wheels, suspension off, and the ecu and about 1000 wires hanging out the dash board! will get this all tidied up this saturday and hopefully
get the engine problem solved and then get some location shots for you so bear with me, i have notified the car mags also that there is a dely but should not
be long, if the Lm cannot make it to the Ace sat i will meet you all there in the Aston instead.

Do not think i need to post any pics, the pics that Zeke has taken on the events section under ace cafe topic are absolutely supurb! bit of a quite night the
morgan lot where not exactly the life and soul of the party, but as it was the LM600 1st show i think it attracted most of the attention all night, well done

Hi Boycey, firstly, wow, the car looks spectacular. I have thoroughly enjoyed following this rebuild. Glad to see the car is already making the outings!
Secondly, I have good news. I hope you don't mind but I contacted www.supercars.net on your behalf and Richard Owen who is the webmaster there sounds very
interested in the car. This was his response....
Great. What a fabulous car, I really don't know enough about it without asking too many questions. Those pictures from the Marcos Meet, did you take them? They are really spectacular. Let me know, Rich I have passed on your email address to him and re-mentioned the existing cars profile on their site that has pictures of the old car. Your the best man to answer any questions he has, hopefully he will be interested in doing a main page feature on the car. You may also want to check with Zeke to see if he is happy releasing the images for use on the site. Expect an email I suppose! |

Yes i have got an email from the chief editor of supercars.net excellent, glad you have enjoyed this thread and the re- birth of the LM600. Once the shocks
and suspension are sorted , TOPCATS racing are going to set the car up, i will then you tube it etc. Thanks again
