I suspect there's a thread on this somewhere already but searching on 'popper' or 'stud' (no jokes please...) didn't find anything
useful, so... a hood stud has come off the cockpit rim. What's the best way to replace it? (someone did this with black 'pull' studs I think?)
Would really appreciate some some comments as I'd like to get this sorted before the car is shown on the 18th, otherwise it'll be a case of trying another rivet with a bigger 'end piece' (or whatever they're called) which would seem to increase the chances of the fibreglass it's embedded in grinding away.

you could
try easing up the parcel shelf carpet and underfelt up this will reveal some screws holding down the leather which is fastened to a rigid backing, then gently
ease the base of this out and you should be able to reach under to the back of the rivet.
