Many circuits are having to reduce noise limits on trackdays due to the freqency of them and the pressure from the general public to do so. 105db`s is probably the highest limit now, some trackday venues are down to 98db`s on the static noise test. Donnington have a better system where it is 98db`s on a drive by basis where the noise is checked at some point on the circuit. If you exceed that, they pull you in then give you the 105db test, if you pass that they just tell you to ease off a little when going pass the noise meter. If the car fails it, your off the circuit, I find this is the best system as you can still have your fun if you just ease off a little where necessary and then everybody is happy. Quite ironic though that a jumbo 747 will fly over and drown all the car noise out instantly, but the public can`t do anything about that during the day.

Mine meets the 105dbs test, although sometimes I have to have a debate with the tester that it`s a lazy V8 that peaks at 5000rpm and not a 16V screamer that will maybe rev to 8000rpm! At Curborough I only get upto 5000rpm on the straight anyway.

With some red insulation tape make a small triangular wedge and stick it on your tacho on the 5000 - 6000rpm increment and that is the new max revs of your engine who needs electronic rev limiters! Now that tip has to be worth the use of tail cans if required!
