Registered Member Posts: 1486 Tue, 6-Oct-2009 12:16 Minor mechanic deity	Tags : None http://www.supercarchallenge.nl/image_cache/galleries_DSC_2007_2009_9_Spa_Francorchamps_Roel_Louwers_zondag_RL1_1366-RLouwers_jpg_700_500.jpg Last weekend Cor did win both races and did score many points especially because in the Saturday race Martin Short in the works-Mosler DNF because of an accident in the first corner. Sunday in extremly wet conditions we saw again Cor in first place and the Mosler starting from the very last place could finish second with 26 seconds behind Cor. Short did drive excellent but with all the water on the track he had never a real chance to win the race. So Cor could score more points than expected and is leading quite comfortable the championship. Gary will surely show within the next days some of his great pictures from this weekend. Great to meet the Morrison´s in the pits who made it all the way from Le Mans to Spa to support the Marcos International Team. Bad News: Assen in 3 weeks time will be the last time we see the LM600 Evo on the track. But anyway winning the championship in the year of the 50th anniversary of Marcos would be simply great and many thanks to Cor and the Marcos International Team. Very sad to see the LM600 Evo finishing life on the grids of the world with probably the most successful Marcos driver ever. Will be worth watching the races in Assen and everybody is welcome by the team to join the races in the pits. Registered Member Posts: 1488 Wed, 7-Oct-2009 07:02 Minor mechanic deity	Hi Steve, AFAIK la Bomba is for sale after the season, so if need a low toy for the one or the other weekend the LM will be a real chance.... The most of the Forum will know, that Cor is not really a tall person, so in the LM he is sitting extremly low, but if you drive such a quick car, you don´t need a rear windscreen (closed) and no mirrors, simply look forward and try to hold the car on the track and you will surely win. I once had the opportunity to sit in this car, quite a act to get in and even more difficult to come out, but once in the cockpit it will fit 100% even to not really tall persons. CF Mantula

Cor in 1st place with the Etec Viper in a close second in Sundays rain. 2 races and 2 wins for Cor with La Bomba. More images will follow on my flickr site soon.

Registered Member Posts: 561 Wed, 7-Oct-2009 19:00	It was an absolutely fantastic weekend. Have seen Cor race many times over the years but watching him race at Spa was phenomenal. Being at the bottom of Eau Rouge as "La Bomba" flashed past is a sight we will never forget. It can only be described as a roller coaster ride and when we asked Cor if that was how it felt he agreed. Here are a few of our piccies - not as professional as Gary's but still worth seeing 50th Anniversay Sticker Cor at the bottom of Eau Rouge Packing up to go home after a successful weekend! Not sure about the future of the LM600. Cor did say that as it was his 30th anniversary in racing next year he would have a change but when speaking to the engine guy from KMS Racing Engines he seemed to think that whilst the LM600 was still winning it would remain as it was, but if it was no longer competitive they may have to upgrade from the LS6 engine to the LS7 engine. Suppose we'll just have to wait and see. Hoping to make it to Assen for the last 2 DSC races and hopefully see Cor take the championship.

Last time I made special plans to watch the DSC Cor was spun out early and didn't really get much coverage. Someone tell me - is La Bomba the name for the car, or is it a sponsor ? Registered Member Posts: 1492 Tue, 13-Oct-2009 12:23 Minor mechanic deity	Did not find the point-system of the DSC, but Cor has indeed a very realistic chance to win the championship next weekend. Even with 2. places in both races he will win the title. The only problem could be a crash or technical problem in the first race. I am convinced Cor will be the champion and we will support him in Assen. Hopefully some other Marcos will go as well and watch the races. CF Mantula
