For lots of you this will sound like I am still in the dark ages - but for the others I wish to share the discovery of having a car radio with a USB port. My Marcos will play CDs, but I have no space in the car for CDs - let alone tapes - and I must admit that for the 8.000 miles or so since I bought it I have mainly listened to the engine - and it plays a sweet tune! I should probably mention that I have no other electronic devices on my person as a rule - except sometimes a mobile phone (switched off).
However I have discovered that you can buy for £90 a radio that has a USB port (e.g. from Halfords), and that you can get so much music on a little USB data stick that it avoids you having to carry any CDs or tape cassettes, in fact you can probably store your entire music collection on a dinky device about the size of a key ring - these days they are up to 32Gb !
The Sony unit I have will play windows files, MP3 files, or even AAC files and seems to assume a certain organisation of folders indicate Band/Album/Track - though I can't find this documented anywhere - so if anyone knows how this works then I woukd be grateful, but for the Marcos this solves the music storage problem at a stroke ! I have copied WAC files directly from audio CDs using Windows Media Player and they play perfectly.
Steve
