Registered Member Posts: 517 Fri, 18-Jul-2008 17:10	Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who stayed or visited over the Le Mans Classic weekend. Sometimes we do feel we are missing out on some great Marcos events now we live in France but it is weekends like this that make up for it. Hope to see you all again in 2 years' time or of course if anyone is coming over for the 24hr next year. A big thank you to Isobel for organising the tickets - as usual we couldn't have done it without her. See you all at Prescott next year!

Registered Member Posts: 1115 Sat, 19-Jul-2008 02:22 Chief mechanic	Have to say that Maggie and me both had a great time, I was surprised by her interest and I think she may have the bug ! If I can fix the car i might get her to attend a few other things too. Big thanks to Isobel for all she did and nice to meet at last, and to Mr Quiff and Jonny Brookes who seems to appear in all my photos, don't think he moved from the stand all weekend ! Thanks also to Darren and Debbie for being so hospitable as always, and don't forget to leave enough room in that hole for the local Mayor, mind you I bet those fish are hungry !

On the way down we stopped for a coffee, whilst watching the world go by we decided we would only set off again when another Marcos went past, in the UK we would have been there forever but in France sure enough two went past - thanks Isobel! So we walk back to the cars and as we are getting in two Mini Marcos go past. We set off and within a few hundred yards the two Mini Marcos have turned around and are coming back towards us so we pull over to the side of the road for a chat and discover they thought we had broken down. Whilst at the side of the road two Mantis also stop thinking we had broken down. Where else can you stop briefly and end up with a whole line of Marcos at the side of the road, the camaraderie of the marque is great, thanks all. And it turns out that I did have a breakdown of sorts... I lost a brake light bulb! Thanks to ... well everyone... for telling me when we got off the track!
